Explosion in Deir Ezzor Countryside on the First Day of the New Year
An explosion shook the town of Abu Hammam in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor on the first day of the new year. It was stated to be a car bomb explosion which targeted a check-point of the Syrian Democratic Forces in Al-Sanour area. A woman, her two children, and another child lost their lives in the explosion. Other civilians suffered from various injuries.
Immediately after the explosion, the specialized teams of the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Internal Security Forces rushed to the location of the explosion. They established a police cordon while the demining engineering teams checked the location.
Local residents were scheduled to go out in mass demonstrations to denounce the policies of the Russian forces in the same area of the explosion, some agencies reported.
