Child Medical Care Center opens in Qamishli
The Child Medical Care Center was opened in Qamishli city. It is the first pediatric center in Qamishli and will serve the city as well as the immediate countryside.
In addition to the medical center’s traditional departments (admission, night residence, emergency, maternity, and phototherapy), the center includes three specialized departments:
(1) A department for malnutrition treatment which will operate according to the standards used in international health organizations.
(2) A department for new mothers to advise on post-natal care, breastfeeding, mother-child emotional connection, and to provide financial assistance for parents.
(3) A department for burn victims.
The opening of the Child Medical Care Center will help to fill gaps in Qamishli’s medical care infrastructure, in particular the area’s shortage of incubators.
