Executive Council of DAA in the Jazira Region holds first annual meeting
QAMISHLI – The Executive Council of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (DAA) in the Jazira Region held its annual meeting during which they discussed the political and social conditions, the most important productive service projects and the achievements of the administration. In addition, the Executive Council drew up plans for future service projects for the people of the region.
Alongside co-chairs of the Executive Council, Mrs. Berivan Khalid and Mr. Abdel Hamid al-Mahbash, were their representatives and the co-chairs of other DAA authorities and offices in North and East Syria.
The meeting started with a minute of silence to commemorate the sacrifice of the region’s martyrs, followed by an evaluation of the political situation of the last year. The increased openness of western countries to the DAA was particularly noted. The negotiations between the DAA and Damascus were discussed, noting that no real results have been obtained so far. The meeting also praised, during their presentation of the political situation, the sacrifices and persistence of the people of North and East Syria in the face of Turkish invasion.
The Executive Council also confirmed the necessity of continuing the resistance and activating the “Syrian-Syrian” dialogue as a way to end the countries crisis. The importance of open communication between the DAA and its constituents, as well as the participation of the people of region in the DAA was also noted.
