Russian military checkpoints established in the countryside of Rish Ayno

NORTH AND EAST SYRIA – In an effort to calm tensions and sporadic exchanges of fire, Russian military checkpoints have been established in the countryside of Rish Ayno (Ras al-Ain) between the Syrian Arab Army and Turkish-backed forces. Despite ongoing joint Turkish-Russian patrols, Turkish-occupied Rish Ayno has seen a spat of car bombings targeting Turkish and Turkish-backed forces. Four such attacks have occurred over the past two weeks, resulting in the deaths of at least 7 Turkish soldiers and 5 members of the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army.
