UPDATE: Syriac Military Council repels Turkish occupation forces outside Til Tamr: 14 killed
TIL TAMR – The Syriac Military Council (MFS) continues to protect the villages of the Khabour and resists the repeated targeting of the Turkish occupation forces on the villages of Til Tamr and prevents them from advancing.
Regarding the latest developments on the front line with the Turkish occupation forces, “Khabour Akad”, Commander of MFS, stated:
“There is tension on the front line of Til Tamr, al-Khabour basin. The village of Umm al-Keif was targeted by the Turkish occupation factions with artillery and mortar fire. They also tried to sneak into the area, but our forces, Syriac Military Council, confronted them on the front lines and prevented them from advancing.”
With regard to the losses of the Turkish occupation forces, Akad continued:
“A clash erupted two days ago with the Turkish occupation forces. It led to the death of 14 militants. Moreover, we confiscated a vehicle and some munitions. It is worth noting that there is still tension on the front line due to the continued targeting from the Turkish occupation with mortars and artillery.”
Akad said that on Monday morning, things remained calm along the front.
The MFS has taken it upon itself the task of protecting the villages of the Khabour since the beginning of the brutal invasion of North and East Syria by Turkey and its proxies – several groups of which espouse extremist ideologies. The fighting resulted in a number of MFS martyrs.
