Syrian Democratic Forces Spokesperson: SDF and MFS ready to respond to the Turkish attacks
NORTH AND EAST SYRIA – In an interview with SuroyoTV, the official spokesperson for the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Kino Gabriel, confirmed that the Turkish occupation forces continue their attacks and repeated targeting of North and East Syria. The SDF and the Syriac Military Council (MFS), he said, are ready to respond at any time.
“During the past few days, many developments have occurred in the Khabour Region and Ras al-Ain (Rish Ayno) fronts, along the [M4 highway] and towards the city of Ain Issa,” said Gabriel. “Continuous Turkish violations and bombing operations take place, whether through its army or through its affiliated factions. The attacks targeted the points of the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Syrian Army Forces, south of the [M4].”
The SDF and MFS engage in counterbattery fire to respond, and hopefully discourage, shelling from the Turkish occupation forces.
Due to the battle in Idlib, said Gabriel, “Currently, the conditions are relatively stable with some kind of calmness.” Gabriel believes the sporadic artillery fire from the Turkish occupation forces “occur in an attempt to either change the reality in the region or to expand in the region, but I believe there is no possibility for such an issue at this time.”
Despite the tensions and the exchange of fire between Syrian government forces and Turkish forces, Gabriel expressed a commitment to maintaining security along the front line. “Syrian and Russian forces will work to maintain security in the region alongside with the local forces present here.”
