Russian military relocates from Tel Tamr to Ayn Issa
TEL TAMR – Yesterday, Russian military forces along the Tel Tamr front line redeployed to new positions near Ayn Issa in the countryside of Raqqa.
North Press Agency reported that, according to military sources, that Russian forces have established new positions in the northern countryside of Raqqa, near the road junction which leads to Tel Abyad.
“The Russian convoy included numerous heavily armored vehicles coming from the Russian Base at Qamishli International Airport yesterday,” said the source. “The Russian convoy met another convoy in their center at the al-Mubagir station, north of Tel Tamr and headed together to the new position.”
The Russian military movement coincided with a Russian patrol through the Abu Rasayn countryside, which witnessed confrontations and mutual shelling between Syrian government forces and Turkish occupation forces yesterday.
Russian forces deployed in the regions of North and East Syria in October 2019, after the incursion of the Turkish Army and its Syrian proxies into Rish Ayno (Ras al-Ayn) and Tal Abyad.
