At least 9 Turkish occupation force members killed in fierce fighting on Tel Tamr front
TAL TAMR, Syria – Around midnight on Wednesday, artillery shelling and violent clashes erupted along the Tal Tamr front. According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), the attacking Turkish occupation forces (TOF) suffer 9 casualties in the clashes. Hawar News Agency, citing a source in the Tel Tamr Military Council, reported 13 TOF killed in the fighting.
The attack was repelled by the Syriac Military Council (MFS), Tel Tamr Military Council, and other Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) units. It is not known if the defending forces suffered any casualties.
According to some sources, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) assisted in the defense by providing artillery support.
The fighting lasted for hours in the villages of Al-Aliya, Lailan, Al-Arisha, Tal Awaish, Al-Qasimiya, and Um-Ashba. The TOF also targeted the grain silos at al Aliya, which are situated along the M4 highway, with artillery shelling.
One source told SuroyoTV that the security and military situation in the Khabur Region during the last three days has been tense. TOF have continuously targeted military and non-military locations throughout Tel Tamr and the Khabur Region. According to the source, the Tal Tamr – Abu Rasayn front has been hit with over 120 artillery and mortar shells in that period, most of them targeting the area in and around the village of Timar (Umm al-Keif). There is near constant TOF activity along the front, according to the source.
