Military bases around Damascus again struck by Israeli missiles

DAMASCUS – A security source reported that late Thursday evening, Syrian air defenses responded to Israeli missiles over Damascus and the surrounding area.

Syrian air defenses intercepted a number of the missiles before they could reach their targets, south of Damascus International Airport.

According to Syrian State News Agency SANA, the missiles were fired from the Golan Heights.

Radio Farda reported that four members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps were killed in the strikes.

Last week, Israeli missiles targeted the vicinity of Damascus and the southern region.

Israel routinely fires missiles at what it says are Iranian targets in Syria, where elite Iranian forces and allied militia play a key role in assisting the Syrian Arab Army in the ongoing civil war.
