Rep. Ralph Abraham meets with Syriac parties and organizations in Iraq
ERBIL, Iraq – At a special meeting on 19 February at the Rotana Hotel in Erbil, Iraq, U.S. Congressman Ralph Abraham (R-LA-5), met with several parties and institutions of Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian (CSA) people, during which they discussed the situation of, and challenges faced by, the CSA people.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the political situation of the CSA people in Iraq and their historical ties to the Nineveh Plain region.
Political parties and organizations provided the Rep. Abraham with a detailed explanation of the difficult conditions experienced by the CSA people and how to find a mechanism to resolve them.
They appealed to the Rep. Abraham for the U.S. Congress to make a clear decision on providing support and assistance to the CSA people, as well as supporting them in guaranteeing their political and national rights.
The meeting lasted for nearly two hours and included Rep. Abraham and his delegation, Beth Nahrin Patriotic Union, the Beth Nahrin Democratic Party, the Chaldean National Council, Abnaa al-Nahrin Union, the Syriac Community Movement, the Chaldo Ashur Organization of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, and the Democratic Warka Block.
