His Holiness Patriarch Mor Aphrem II meets Representative of Armenian Protestant Church in Syria
ALEPPO, Syria – Yesterday, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II, Patriarch of Antioch and the Syriac Orthodox Church, visited St. Ephrem Church in the Al-Sulaymaniyah neighborhood in Aleppo, Syria.
His Holiness led the prayer of thanksgiving at St. Ephrem Cathedral in Al-Sulaimaniya, where he was received by the Parish priests who welcomed him and received his blessing.
His Holiness was accompanied by His Eminence Bishop Mor Boutros Kassis, Patriarchal Aide and Accredited Patriarch in the Parish of Aleppo, media personality Ghassan Al-Shami, and Mr. Nabil Kahl.
On Friday, His Holiness also met Reverend Haroutioun Selimian, Representative of the Armenian Protestant Church in Syria, accompanied by Mr. Majed Ibrahim, at the Patriarchal Headquarters in Bab Touma in Damascus.
The meeting was attended by His Eminence Archbishop Mor Boutros Kassis, Patriarchal Assistant, and Very Rev. Raban Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director.
During the meeting, His Holiness and Rev. Selimian spoke about the current situation in Syria, especially after the liberation of Aleppo.
