SYRIA: Two Turkish soldiers killed by IEDs in Idlib; more clashes between regime and opposition forces despite ceasefire

IDLIB, Syria – Turkish forces in Syria’s Idlib Governorate have established a new military point near the town of Basnakul along the M4 highway, bringing the number of the Turkish observation points in the de-escalation area to 44. Recently, Turkey has also established military points in Andan, Al-Rashideen, Maar Hatat, Saraqib, Tronba, Al-Nayrab.

In related news, two Turkish soldiers were killed by improvised explosive devices near the village of Muhambal in Sahel al-Rouj, west of Idlib. Several other soldiers were wounded. Guardians of Religion, an Islamist terrorist organization affiliated with Al-Qaeda has been accused of carrying out the attack.

Syrian regime forces and the terrorist groups once again violated the Russian-Turkish ceasefire agreement in Idlib.

In Hazarin village, clashes erupted between opposition groups and Syrian regime forces. The violent confrontation left several dead and wounded. The incident is the latest in a series of ceasefire violations.
