SYRIA: Syrian regime continues to violate ceasefire in Idlib and Latakia countryside
Idlib / Latakia – Syrian regime forces demonstrate their lack of commitment to the Russian-Turkish ceasefire agreement as they continue to violate the cease-fire. Regime forces bombed several locations in the Idlib countryside and in Latakia in an attempt to defeat the terrorists of Jabhat al-Nusra and other organizations. Syrian regime forces targeted locations in al-Ftera and Sfuhen in Jabal al-Zawiya in the southern countryside of Idlib, as well as al-Haddadah and al-Khudur in the northern countryside of Latakia.
Since the ceasefire implantation 16 days ago, axes of contact have witnessed a cautious calm and the cessation of airstrikes.
The Russian Center for Reconciliation in Syria said it had not detected any ceasefire violations by Turkish-backed armed factions in Idlib. A Russian military official however mentioned four bombing operations that targeted several towns in Hama Governorate and one in the countryside of Latakia Governorate. The bombings were carried out by the jihadist factions al-Nusra Front and the Turkistan Islamic Party.
