SYRIA: Iranian-backed militias reinforce Aleppo, Idlib, and Hama countrysides
DAMASCUS — Iranian forces and Iranian-backed militias continue to intensify their presence throughout Syrian territory, recently deploying heavy weapons and establishing training centers in the countrysides of Idlib, Aleppo, and Hama.
Iranian-backed militias of various nationalities have reinforced their positions in the vicinity of Saraqeb and Kafranbel, as well as other positions in Jabal al-Zawiya. Iranian militias also reinforced their positions in the vicinity of Jabal Shahshbo in northwestern of Hama.
In the Al-Ais area in southern Aleppo, militias loyal to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) brought in military reinforcements consisting of elements of Syrian and non-Syrian nationality.
Iranian militia training camps are currently concentrated around the Hama Airbase and throughout the Hama countryside.
The reinforcements coincide with the flight of Syrian regime and Russian drones over the southern Idlib countryside to the city of Idlib and its rural areas. Residents of these cities fear being forced to abandon their homes in the face of renewed combat operations.
