SYRIA: Iranian Revolutionary Guards Military vehicles and covered-up trucks enter Syria via al-Bukamal city

Al-Bukamal, Deir ez-Zor – According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) at least ten completely covered trucks entered al-Bukamal city yesterday. SOHR, quoting reliable sources, said that the trucks were accompanied by military vehicles of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard coming from Iraqi territory entering Syria through the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor. The Iranian Revolutionary Guards completely covered up the trucks to conceal their identity and load, the same source added.

The SOHR reported earlier on the 10th March, that fierce confrontations took place between elements of the 4th Division of the Syrian Arab Army and a newly formed tribal militia affiliated with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, in the city of al-Mayadeen in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor al-Sharqi. The confrontations ended in the killing of a regime soldier while many civilians were wounded after which the 4th Division withdrew, and the militia’s took control of the existing checkpoint.

It is worth mentioning that these militias are under continuous bombing of the U.S.-led coalition against terrorism, since they are listed on its terrorist list.
