NINEVEH PLAINS: Nineveh governor visits Syriac city of Baghdede over coronavirus measures
Baghdede, ܒܓ݂ܕܝܕܐ – Governor of the Nineveh Governate Najim Abdullah al-Jubouri visited the Syriac city of Baghdede (Qaraqos) on the Nineveh Plains to inspect and be informed on the measures taken by the municipality against the coronavirus. The Syriac city of Baghdede is the administrative center of the al-Hamdaniye district and is headed by Syriac mayor Isa Behnam Matte. The Nineveh governor and his delegation were received by mayor Behnam Matte who showed the delegation around and informed them on the harsh measures he was necessitated to impose. Governor al-Jobouri expressed his satisfaction with the imposed measures.
Mayor Isa Behnam Matte also announced that the Baghdede municipality and Catholic Christian NGO Aid for the Church in Need, today started distributing a 25.000 Iraqi Dinar allowance for every family in Baghdede for them to pay this month’s electricity bill. The allowance will be distributed by the administrator per Baghdede neighborhood.
