SYRIA: Christian family attacked in Tartus countryside on Good Friday, woman and two children, 5 and 6, stabbed to death

TARTUS, Syria – In a horrible and chilling crime, a Christian family of four were brutally attacked in Al-Badera village in the Tartus countryside on the evening of Good Friday. The mother Rama Daoud and her two children, aged 5 and 6, were stabbed to death in the attack. The father of the children suffered multiple stab wounds and was taken to Al-Basel Hospital in Tartus, where he underwent surgery.

A source in the Tartus provincial police confirmed that investigations were ongoing and that the father was still under the influence of anesthesia following surgery.

It was also reported that the father was an agricultural engineer who worked for a private company and resigned about a year ago in the hope of travelling outside Syria.
