Beth Nahrin Patriotic Union in Iraq: Christianity in Iraq will not perish through murder or the confiscation of land but through a loss of ideology and faith
ANKAWA ܥܲܢܟܵܒ̣ܵܐ, Iraq – In a statement posted to its official website, the Beth Nahrin Patriotic Union (HBA) in Iraq extended Easter congratulations to all the Christians and called on the Christians of Iraq to resist the urge to emigrate in the face of hardship. Christianity in Iraq will not perish through murder or the confiscation of land, read the statement, but through a loss of ideology and faith.
********** PRESS STATEMENT **********
Our Iraqi people, do not be disappointed by the killing, kidnapping, forced displacement, looting, and land confiscation you had been passing through, but adhere to your faith and struggle, instead. In the end, only right, reunification and returning the rights to the civilizations’ sons, will triumph. We have always been saying that peoples cannot be annihilated by killing, displacement, captivity or land confiscation, but by the removal (effacing) of their ideology and their faith in their issue.
We must point out that this critical period the world is going through due to the coronavirus epidemic, has killed more than 100,000 people and infected a million and a half others. We hope that the epidemic will be curbed and stopped to return peace and security to Iraq and all the world.
On this majestic occasion, we would like to congratulate all the Christians in the world and our people in Beth Nahrin wherever they exist. We call on you (Christians) to adhere to your language, heritage and civilization and trust your honorable political leaders and religious leaders.
Happy Easter for all.
Beth Nahrin Patriotic Union
