Executive Council in North and East Syria: All citizens should be provided with internet service on a fair basis, service providers monopoly is unacceptable
NORTH AND EAST SYRIA – On Sunday, Mrs. Elizabeth Gawriye, Deputy Co-Chair of the Executive Council of the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) in North and East Syria explained that a meeting was held by the Executive Council with the Communications Office in the Civil and Autonomous Administrations to discuss the situation of telecommunications services in the Gozarto (Jazira) Region.
In the meeting, the Council stated that the DAA acknowledges that internet service should be available to all people east of the Euphrates River. In addition, certain control rules to regulate the distribution of the internet service should be set.
The meeting concluded with the decision that the DAA will supervise the provision of internet services and ensure that all citizens be provided with internet service on a fair basis and prevent the establishment of local and regional monopolies.
