Syriac Zeyana Malki Keno (91) dies of coronavirus in Sweden

SÖDERTÄLJE, Sweden – The coronavirus continues to take the lives of members of the Syriac community in Sweden. Zeyana Malki Keno, born in Midyat, Turkey in 1929 to parents Shimon Haydari and Saidi Melli, passed away in Södertälje, Sweden from the virus.

The late Mrs. Keno was married to Mr. Issa Keno. The couple gave birth to 11 children, only five of whom are alive today.

In 1975, Mrs. Keno and her husband immigrated to Sweden. Once settled, the couple opened their doors to other Syriac immigrants, turning their home into a common waypoint for those seeking to build a new life in Sweden.

The late Zeyana Keno was open to life and loved her children: Ahwe, Attia, Daniel, Nabil, and Yilmaz.
