Attempted arson on Armenian church in Istanbul
ISTANBUL, Turkey – An unknown person attempted arson on the Armenian church in the Istanbul district of Bakirköy on 8th May. Fortunately the attempt was quickly discovered and the arsonist could be arrested by the police before serious damage was done to the church. Only the outer door of the Armenian Dznunt Surp Asdvadzadzni church suffered damages. The identity of the arsonist was not made public.
After interrogation of the perpetrator, the police said he tried to set fire to the Armenian church because he blames the members of the church to be the reason of the spread of the Coronavirus.
