SYRIA: Syrian regime shows lack of cooperation with Autonomous Administration about opening of crossings
DARAMSUQ (Damascus), Syria – As part of measures taken by the Syrian Government in Damascus to loosen quarantine restrictions in the country, on Tuesday, public transport buses began conducting their first road trips from Aleppo to destinations in Syria. The buses started operating again after the decision of the Syrian Government’s Coronavirus Response Team to lift the travel ban imposed between Syrian provinces from Tuesday morning to May 30.
Chaos was the result as buses were crowded with passengers as preventive measures were not maintained in the buses. In recklessness and negligence by the Syrian Government, passengers did not wear muzzles, there were no sterilization measures taken and buses were operated at full capacity without applying physical distancing between passengers. A flagrant violation of the imposed pandemic measures.
In addition, Syrian Regime Forces refused to open the al-Tayha crossing southwest of Mabbug (Manbij) and prevented entry and exit to and from the city while the Civil Administration of the Democratic Autonomous Administration in Mabbug (Manbij) opened the crossing from its side for arrivals and departures to and from its areas.
