North & East Syria: Friendly Soccermatch between Syriac Youth Team and Syriac Academy Team ends in draw

HASAKAH, Syria – A friendly soccer match between the Syriac Youth team and the Syriac Orthodox Academy team in al-Hasakah city ended in a draw (3 -3). The match was held on Friday evening at the Martyr Zau Seng Stadium, al-Nassira neighborhood, in an atmosphere of conviviality and sportsmanship had prevailed during the match. The referee of the match was the international referee Lucian Dawe, one of the pillars of sport in Syria. 

The friendly soccer match was attended by a large crowd of Syriac fans and members of the Syriac Progressive Youth, cheering in support of both teams with songs and applause. The match was also attended by Syriac Orthodox priests Fr Elias Qas Elias and Fr Tony al-Hanno, and several members of Beth Nahrin National Council (MUB) affiliate organizations. 

The two teams affirmed the continuation of such friendly matches in the coming months.
