Renewed clashes between Syrian regime forces and armed factions in Idlib, artillery exchange between Turkish-backed groups and Syrian Democratic Forces in North and East Syria
TEL ABYAD and IDLIB, Syria – The countryside of Tel Abyad, specifically Kobarlek village, witnessed the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and Syrian regime exchange mutual shelling with Turkish forces and the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA).
Violations of the ceasefire in Idlib also continue, with a number of regime soldiers killed and wounded after being targeted with an anti-tank guided missile (ATGM).
On Monday, the SNA and Turkish forces launched a rocket attack on positions of the SDF and Syrian regime along the Tel Abyad frontline. The SNA barrage prompted a counter barrage from the SDF and Syrian regime. The number of casualties, if any, is not known.
Meanwhile, in southern Idlib Governorate, four members of the Syrian regime forces were killed by an ATGM near Al-Ruwaiha village. Another three members of the regime forces were wounded.
The regime forces responded by shelling the village of Al-Fatiera in Jabal al-Zawiya with heavy artillery.
The latest clashes are part of continuous low-level fighter between the regime and opposition factions in Idlib in clear violation of the ceasefire agreement signed between Russia and Turkey.
