GOZARTO (Al-JAZEERA) REGION, Syria -The Syriac Women’s Union (SWU) in al-Hasakah handed out certificates to female graduates of its latest International Computer Driving Licence course at the Beth Nahrin Academy for Young Women in the city. The driving course aims to firstly increase the trainees’ mobility and secondly their computer skills.
The new graduates received their certificate from SWU in Syria chair Siham Quryo, SWU official for the al-Hasakah branch Ilham Matli and the official of Olaf Taw Foundation in al-Hasakah branch, Sophia Joseph.
In another context, the Syriac language teachers of the Olaf Taw Foundation in the cities of Zalin (Qamishli), Qabre Hewore, Dayrik (al-Malikiyah), and al-Hasakah resumed their Syriac language classes at the Olaf Taw offices in those cities. The courses are part of their educational graduation program to be able to teach Syriac to students in the schools of the Democratic Autonomous Administration.
Both the Syriac Wome’s Union and the Olaf Taw Foundation activities in the Gozarto (al-Jazeera) Region were suspended for more than three months due to the coronavirus lockdown imposed by the Democratic Autonomous Administration.
