SDF prove competence in combating ISIS
HASAKAH and DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria – On the sixth day of Operation Deterring Terrorism launched by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the International Coalition, SDF forces managed to advance their operation into a large geographical area near the Iraqi border. The SDF raided six ISIS hideouts and arrested a number of ISIS terrorists.
The SDF media center issued a statement in the activities of day six:
“The SDF, in coordination with the U.S.-led international coalition forces, on the ground and the air, have been completing sweeping operations and raids in the villages of the desert areas, in coordination with the Iraqi side on the border.
In addition, the commandos and international coalition forces also raided 6 locations of ISIS terrorist cells.
During the raids and sweeping operations, 14 suspected ISIS terrorists were arrested and various weapons were confiscated.
On the other hand, a military division that was sweeping the area had been subjected to resistance and shooting by one of ISIS cells. The SDF dealt with it militarily, the situation was under control and the gunmen were arrested without any SDF losses or injuries.”
