NINEVEH PLAINS: 200 acres of agricultural land devoured in Bartella

NINEVEH PLAINS, Iraq — In the Syriac town of Bartella, Nineveh Plain, fires devoured 200 acres of wheat land. The municipal office for agriculture in Bartella announced that this year alone there were 87 fires in the village’s agricultural lands. Because of the large number of fires, suspicions rise as to the deliberate burning of crop lands. The fires have burned land of Kurds, Syriacs and Shabaks of Bartella.
