Funeral and burial of Archbishop Mor Theophilus Philip Barakat attended by Church officials from across Syria

HOMS, Syria – As part of the strengthening of relations between Syriac churches, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II, Patriarch of the Syriac Orthodox Church, participated in the ceremonies of funeral and burial of the Late Syriac Catholic Archbishop Mor Theophilus Philip Barakat, Archbishop of Homs, Hama, and Nebek, on Tuesday at the Cathedral of The Lady of Salvation in Zedel.

The ceremonies were presided over by Patriarch of the Syriac Catholic Church, His Holiness Mor Ignatius Joseph III Younan, Patriarch of the Syriac Melkite Greek Catholic Church, Youssef al-Absi, and the Papal Ambassador in Daramsuq (Damascus), Cardinal Mario Zinari.
