Meeting of Syriac Orthodox, Greek Orthodox, and Catholic Patriarchs in Damascus
DARAMSUQ (DAMASCUS) – His Holiness, Mor Ignatius Aphrem II, Patriarch of Antioch and all the East of the Syriac Orthodox Chruch, received John X (Yazigi), Patriarch of Antioch and all the East of the Greek Orthodox Church and Youssef Absi, Patriarch of Alexandria and Jerusalem of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church at the Patriarchate headquarters in Bab Touma, Daramsuq (Damascus).
During their meeting, the three Patriarchs discussed the general situation in Syria and Lebanon, both countries suffering from economic hardship on top of the coronavirus pandemic. The Patriarchs also discussed some common ecclesiastical issues and the situation of Christians in the context of the difficult conditions in the region in general.
