SWEDEN: Syriac Abraham Halef (Social Democrats) appointed to Swedish Parliament
SÖDERTÄLJE, Sweden – Syriac Abraham Halef will take a seat in the Riksdag, the Swedish parliament, for the Socialdemokraterna (Social Democrat party). Abraham Halef (28) will take the seat in parliament as a substitute per 1 August. The new member of the Riksdag lives in Södertälje where he currently sits on the municipal council with social work and (health)care in his portfolio.
Halef will be the fifth Syriac member of the Riksdag after Tony Haddou (Vänsterpartiet / Left Party), Robert Halef (KristDemokraterna), Robert Hannah (Liberalerna) and Roger Haddad (Liberalerna). There is one Syriac minister Ibrahim Baylan (Minister for Enterprise).
