Syrian Democratic Forces spokesperson Gabriel calls on Turkey, Russia, and America to abide by signed agreements
NORTH AND EAST SYRIA – In a statement to North Press Agency, Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) spokesperson Kino Gabriel said that there are Turkish formations massing in several locations in the occupation zone. Gabriel stated that the SDF considers the buildup a threat “we take seriously.”
“These threats come at a time when the United Nations is demanding a comprehensive and global ceasefire, these Turkish military movements are undermining the efforts of world powers and the United Nations,” Gabriel said.
“We are working with our partners in the region to continue to provide protection and support stability in North and East Syria,” he continued.
Gabriel also called on Turkey, International Coalition Forces, the U.S., and Russia to abide by the agreements signed between them, in particular the agreements between Russia and Turkey on the one hand and the U.S. and Turkey on the other.
The reason for the Turkish military buildup around Tel Abyad remains unclear.
