Chaldean Church in America celebrates ordination of two priests

DETROIT, U.S.A. – The Chaldean Diocese of St. Thomas the Apostle in the United States celebrated the ordination ceremony of two students of the Holy Heart in Detroit, Fr. Kevin Yono and Fr. Marcus Shammami of the Cathedral of the Mother of God in Southfield, Michigan.

The ceremony was presided over by Bishop Francis Kalabat, bishop of the Diocese of St. Thomas the Apostle in the U.S., in the presence of Archbishop Mor Gabriel Kassab, a number of priests, nuns, students, and a large gathering of believers.

Father Kevin Yono was born in 1987 and will serve at the Chaldean Church of St. Korkis in Shelby Town, Michigan.

Father Mark Shammami was born in 1993 and will serve at the Church of the Martyrs of Sterling Heights, Michigan.
