Syrian government obliges all who enter Syria to exchange $100 USD or equivalent in foreign currency
DARAMSUQ (DAMASCUS) – The Prime Minister of Syria, Hussein Arnous, issued a decision anyone entering the country is obliged to spend $100 or its equivalent in foreign currencies.
The decision was issued following a proposal from the Syrian Ministry of Finance and the Syrian Cabinet, the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, PM Arnous, issued the decision obligating all who enter the Syrian territory to exchange $ 100 USD or its equivalent in foreign currencies.
According to the new policy, the USD exchange rate will be determined based on the prices of the customs and aviation exchange rates.
Syrians under the age of 18 are exempt from the new policy, as well as truck and public vehicle drivers.
The new policy will go into effect in August.
