Prisoner exchange between Hurras al-Din and Syrian regime
AZAZ, Syria – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that a prisoner exchange took place between Syrian regime forces and Hurras al-Din, Al-Qaeda’s affiliate in Syria, in the Al-Shahba area near Azaz city, north of Aleppo.
SOHR stated that a fighter from Hurras al-Din was released in exchange for the release of a woman working as an intelligence operative of the Syrian regime and Hezbollah.
On 22 May, SOHR reported that a prisoner exchange took place between Hurras al-Din and Syrian regime forces in the city of Taftanaz, northeast of Aleppo city, after a joint agreement to release three prisoners of regime forces who had been previously captured in the battles of North Latakia in Jabal Turkman in exchange for the release of the wife of a member of Hurras al-Din, another woman, and three children.
