Tripartite meeting compels Syrian government forces to stop impeding Syrian Democratic Forces patrols
TAL TAMR, Syria – Amid tight security measures, a meeting was held at the Russian base at Al-Mubaqar station in Tal Tamr in Hasakah Province between the forces of Russia, the Syrian regime, and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
During the meeting, joint coordination between the three forces was discussed, as well as the incidents of the Syrian government forces intercepting U.S. armored vehicles outside Tal Tamr, in addition to intercepting an SDF patrol in the Hasakah countryside.
A deadline of seven days was given for the Syrian government forces to safely leave the village of Mansaf. In addition, the government forces were instructed not to target SDF patrols within the region and to adhere to the agreement concluded between the two sides regarding their deployment on the lines of contact with Turkish and Turkish-backed forces.
During the meeting, it was also agreed that civilians should be left alone by all forces. In instances of conflict, the Relations Office of the Internal Security Forces of the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) would be notified.
Some sources indicated that Russian Forces supported these decisions and confirmed that the Internal Security Forces are responsible for solving any disputes without the intervention of Syrian government forces.
Syrian government forces did not acknowledge at the meeting that they had intercepted SDF patrols. However, they were obliged to accept all the meeting resulting decisions, according to the military source.
