Turkish drones targeted a Russian military position in Al-Darbasiyah in North and East Syria

AL-DARBASIYAH, Syria – The Internal Security Forces (ISF) of the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) of North and East Syria declared that Turkish drones bombed a strategic focal point of the Russian forces in Al-Darbasiyah yesterday, noting that investigations are underway to find out the reasons behind the Turkish attack.

The Internal Security Forces (ISF) statement about the incident read, “The Turkish occupation army continues its indiscriminate shelling of cities and towns in northern Syria. A Turkish drone targeted a Russian military point, which is considered a strategic coordination point, 1 km south of Al-Darbasiyah town on the road leading to Al-Hasakah city.”

The Turkish attack resulted in the injury of a Russian soldier and three civilians.

“In front of the international community and human rights organizations, Turkey continues its aggression without any deterrence to its terrorist act, within which innocent civilians pay the price,” the statement continued.

This is not the first time that Turkish drones bombed various locations in North and East Syria. Last June, a Turkish drone bombed a house in Helincê village, southeast of Kobanî city, killing three women – two women’s rights activists and the owner of the house.
