More Turkish military vehicles enter Syria headed towards de-escalation area

IDLIB, Syria – Northern Syria has witnessed an increasing entry of Turkish forces through the Kafrlossin border crossing. In the past days, dozens of armored vehicles, tanks, and other military vehicles have entered Syrian territory, in addition to hundreds of soldiers.

On Friday evening, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) monitored a number of military convoys of the Turkish army heading from Kafrlossin, north of Idlib city, to the de-escalation zone established by Russia and Turkey in southern Idlib Province.

According to SOHR, the military equipment consisted of 100 armored vehicles and trucks as well as tanks and logistical materials.

The number of Turkish vehicles that entered the Syrian territory since the establishment of a ceasefire agreement has reached 4,830 vehicles, in addition to thousands of soldiers, according to SOHR.

The number of Turkish soldiers in Idlib Province is estimated to be 11,500.
