LNA Director of Moral Guidance Al-Mahjoub: Al-Sarraj government and its militias cannot continue without the protection of Turkey

TRIPOLI, Libya — In an interview with Sky News Arabia on Saturday, Director of the Moral Guidance Department of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Brigadier General Khaled al-Mahjoub, stated that Tripoli-based Fayez al-Sarraj government and its militias would fall if it were not for the protection of Turkey.

“Al-Sarraj had arrived in Istanbul to take instructions from the Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan,” Al-Mahjoub stated, adding that the joint agreements between Turkey and the Government of National Accord of Libya (GNA) lack legitimacy.

“The terrorist mercenaries are sending more reinforcements to the Sirte and Al-Jafra fronts, under Turkish supervision,” Al-Mahjoub said. “However, the LNA is ready to repel any attack by the Turkish-backed militias and mercenaries.”

Al-Mahjoub indicated that Turkey continues to transport mercenaries to Libya via Turkish cargo planes. This was recently confirmed by several international reports.
