9 deacons blessed by Chaldean Church in Istanbul
ISTANBUL — On Friday, the Chaldean Church in Istanbul celebrated the granting of deaconhood to nine individuals — three from Turkey and six from Iraq — including two women. The ceremony coincided with the anniversary of St. Mary, the Apostle and Founder of the Church of the Orient, with The Apostle St. Aday.
In the presence of a large number of worshipers, a ceremonial mass was conducted thanking God for the grace He has given to the Holy Church. The Parish Head stressed that the blessing of the deacons activate the message of the Pastoral and Spiritual Church and must be carried out in the spirit of humility and spiritual joy.
