Co-Chair of Zalin Canton Afram Ishaq: General curfew imposed in Gozarto Region by the Crisis Cell

ZALIN (QAMISHLI), Syria — Co-Chair of Zalin (Qamishli) Canton Afram Ishaq told SyriacPress that after the increasing number of coronavirus infections across North and East Syria, particularly in Gozarto (Jazira) Region, the Crisis Cell of the Gozarto Region decided to impose a general curfew from 6 to 20 August.

Food stores, bakeries, pharmacies, hospitals, fuel stations, water distribution centers, food and medical transport vehicles, as well as medical and relief organizations are excluded from the curfew.

The movement of the farmers and their laborers to the fields and orchards will be facilitated by the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA).

Local private clinics, laboratories, and x-ray centers are allowed to work between 11:00 and 15:00.

The work in all the institutions of the DAA will be suspended, except for the municipalities, emergency committees, health centers, bakeries, fuel directorates, and media institutions.

Ishaq (Syriac Union Party) called on residents of the Canton to adhere to public safety instructions including confining themselves to their houses and practicing adequate social distancing, otherwise they will be subject to legal accountability.
