3 Syriac students among 58 across Syria to obtain full mark in Basic Education Certificate

NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — Three Syriac students obtained a full mark in their Basic Education Certificate, finishing as top students from across the country. In addition, the Education Authority of the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) announced the start of the 2020/2021 academic year in North and East Syria.

The Syrian Ministry of Education announced the results of the Basic Education Certificate, with a pass rate of 69%.

Fifty-eight students obtained a full mark from across Syria. The three Syriacs who obtained a full mark were Arko Ibrahim Ablahad from Hasakah, Firelle Nassar Farajo from Zalin (Qamishli), and Dominique George Jabro from Dayrik (Al-Malikiyah).

The Education Authority of the DAA issued circular No. 71, announcing the start of the academic year. Teachers and administrators will start joining schools on 23 August with classes set to begin on 1 September.

The Ministry of Education of the Syrian government had previously determined the beginning of the 2020/2021 academic year in regime areas on 1 September.
