Iraqi Army thwarts movement of 100 Islamic State members attempting to cross border from Syria

NINEVEH PLAINS, Iraq — On Friday, the Iraqi Army managed to thwart an attempt by 100 members of the Islamic State to sneak across the border from Syria into Nineveh Province, Iraq. Thirty-one members of the group were arrested by the Iraqi forces, while the rest managed to flee towards Syrian territory.

The Iraqi Security Media Cell issued a statement indicating that they had recovered 344 bump torches and 140 canisters of explosives during the operation.
