ISIS ambush in Deir ez-Zor desert kills 3 pro-regime fighters from Palestinian Liwaa al-Quds force
DEIR EZ-ZOR, East Syria – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reports that a group of militia fighters of the Palestinian Liwaa Al-Quds force, a militia loyal to the Syrian regime and trained by Russian forces, was ambushed at dawn on Saturday by an ISIS cells in the area of Al-Khor in the Al-Mayadeen desert in the eastern countryside of Deir Al-Zor.
The ISIS terrorist fighters managed to kill 3 members of the force and injuring 6.
According to SOHR, the death toll from 24 March 2019 to date amounts 644 deaths in regime Syrian Arab Army forces and loyal militants. The killed are of Syrian and non-Syrian nationality including at least two Russians and 140 pro-Iranian militia fighters of non-Syrian nationality. All were killed during attacks, bombings and ambushes by ISIS in the Deir al-Zor countryside, Raqqa, Homs and Suwayda.
SOHR documented the deaths of 273 ISIS members during the same period.
