Crisis Cell of Gozarto Region in North and East Syria lifts curfew but social gatherings still banned
ZALIN, Syria — After a meeting held by the Crisis Cell of Gozarto (Jazira) Region on Wednesday to discuss the latest developments of the coronavirus pandemic, the Cell decided to lift the curfew in Gozarto Region starting on Friday, 28 August.
The move was made in the public interest, said members of the Cell.
The decision does not lift the prohibition on gatherings of all kinds, including funerals, weddings, prayers in places of worship, and parties, stressed the Cell.
Work of officials with the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) is scheduled to resume on Saturday, 29 August, in full adherence to current health regulations. DAA offices were temporarily closed following a sharp increase in the number of coronavirus cases in the region.
The Crisis Cell called on all residents to comply fully with the Decision No. 93 issued by the DAA on 16 August which mandates the wearing of masks in public and appealed to all people in the region to fully adhere to preventive measures, social distancing, and the implementation of the decisions of the concerned authorities, in order to protect them from the virus.
