North and East Syria official Siham Quryo: The Administration has proven itself as the most successful democratic experiment in Syria despite challenges

NORTH AND EAST SYRIA — On the 2nd anniversary of the establishment of the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) of North and East Syria, Co-Chair of the General Council of North and East Syria Siham Quryo stated that, although the DAA was established in a short period, the Administration was able to prove itself as the most successful democratic experiment in Syria, despite a lack of resources.

Quryo also indicated that the Turkish attacks on the region and the resulting mass displacement has been one of the biggest challenges the administration has faced.

“Over the past seven years, not even one bullet was fired towards the Turkish border despite all their transgressions on our territory,” Quryo noted, stressing the need to continue work until a democratic solution that reflects the diversity of Syria is reached.

“The DAA is pursuing the unity of Syria and the Syrian people through continuous calls for Syrian–Syrian dialogue,” Quryo added. “The external interference in writing the Syrian constitution will not solve the Syrian crisis. Instead, it will be solved through dialogue between all parties represented by the opposition, the Syrian government, and the Administration.
