HASAKAH, Syria — On Tuesday, after receiving a report from the residents of Hasakah city about a suspicious motorbike parked at the Syriac Orthodox Church roundabout in the Tel Hajar neighborhood, the Syriac Security Force (Sutoro) of the Internal Security Forces (ISF) of North and East Syria rushed to the scene and established a security cordon around the area and cleared the area of people.
The Sutoro then communicated with the mine and explosives experts of the engineering team who inspected the bike and discovered it had been rigged with explosives set to be triggered via mobile phone.
The engineers were able to dismantle the explosive device without any injury or material damage.
The parked motorbike was reported at noon when the area was heavily congested by cars and pedestrians.
Sutoro representatives pledged to continue to work to preserve the security of the region and protect all its residents, welcoming the efforts of civilians in reporting suspicious individuals or objects.
