Syriac Orthodox Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II receives representative of Coptic Orthodox Church in Lebanon
BEIRUT — Syriac Orthodox Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II received the representative of the Coptic Orthodox Church in Lebanon, Pastor Timon al-Syriani, at the Patriarchate in Al-Atshana, Lebanon on Wednesday.
The meeting was attended by Father Cyrlos Papi, Director of the Legal Department, and Father Joseph Bali, Director of the Media Department.
During the meeting, His Holiness, the Patriarch congratulated Pastor Timon al-Syriani on his appointment to serve the people of the Coptic Orthodox Church in Lebanon, succeeding Father Ruiz al-Orshalimi, who recently passed away, and wished him success in his pastoral service. The Patriarch also discussed with him issues of concern to the Syriac and Coptic Churches with Father al-Syriani.
At the end of the meeting, the Patriarch give Father al-Syriani a cross and a book on the history of the Syriac Orthodox Church.
