Joint Kurdish delegation visits Syriac Union party (SUP) in Syria
ZALIN, Syria — The Kurdish Democratic Unity Party in Syria (YEK-DEM) and the Kurdish Democratic Progressive in Syria (PDPKS) formed a joint delegation on Thursday to visit the Syriac Union party (SUP) at its headquarters in Zalin (Qamishli) in North and East Syria.
The delegation was greeted by SUP Co-Chair Sanharib Barsoum and members of the SUP General Council Abdulahad Ishaq and Nora Hanna.
The visiting delegation consisted of Secretary-General of YEK-DEM Mohieddin Sheikh Ali, Deputy Secretary of YEK-DEM Mustafa Mashaykh, and members of the PDPKS Political Bureau Ahmed Barakat and Ahmed Suleiman.
During the visit, the two sides discussed the importance of the relationship between the parties on the one hand, and the Syriac and Kurdish peoples on the other. They also discussed the relationship of the two peoples with the peoples of the region and Syria as a whole, all of whom continue to suffer from the current situation in Syria.
The party representatives also discussed the latest developments on the Syrian scene in general, and in the areas of Democratic Autonomous Administration in particular. The parties expressed consensus on many topics, such as the political solution in Syria and the threats and challenges that the region faces.
