Lebanese PM-designate Mustafa Adib calls on all political parties to cooperate in formation of salvation government
BEIRUT — Days after he announced that he was waiting to form a new government team, Lebanese Prime Minister-designate Mustafa Adib has reversed course and called on all political parties in Lebanon to work toward the success of the initiative of French President Emmanuel Macron, warning that any further delay in the formation of a government will aggravate the many crises that the country faces.
Adib’s decision to form a government comes after a meeting with Lebanese President Michel Aoun.
Adib’s announcement came during a statement on Monday in which he said that time is not in Lebanon’s favor as it combats multiple unprecedented fiscal, economic, social, political, and health crises.
Adib added that the pain of the Lebanese requires the cooperation of all parties in order to facilitate the formation of a government specifically composed of specialists tasked with stopping the collapse of the country and restoring citizen’s confidence in government.
He also stressed that he will spare no effort in achieving this goal in cooperation with President Aoun.
