SYRIA: Mutual exchanges of fire between Regime forces and Turkish-backed groups in Idlib and Latakia
HOLOB (ALEPPO), Syria — A member of the forces allied to the Syrian regime was killed by sniper fire near the village of Bala in the western countryside of Holob (Aleppo) on Monday amidst heavy exchanges of machine-gun fire.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported regime forces shelled locations of the Turkish-backed factions in northern Latakia and Idlib.
Russian reconnaissance aircraft were reported to be flying overhead during the shelling.
Armed groups targeted regime forces in the town of Kafr Nabl, in Idlib countryside, and in the western countryside of Holob.
Turkish-backed factions also thwarted an attempt by regime forces near Taqad, west of Holob, to infiltrate their lines. A number of regime-allied fighters were reportedly killed.
